Last Call for PTO Board Nominations!

Are you interested in a role on the PTO Board or leading a coordinator or committee next year? If so, please nominate yourself or a friend by filling out the nomination form no later than Friday, March 10th, 2023.

The PTO Nominations Committee is working to identify parents to serve on the PTO Board of Directors for 2023 - 2024. Open positions on the 2023 - 2024 Board include:

1st Vice President
2nd Vice President
Secretary
Assistant Treasurer
Community Development

The PTO also has many coordinator/committee positions to fill for next year. There are positions for every schedule, skill set, and interest including, but not limited to: Grade Level Representatives, Event Planning (e.g., Boo Hoo Yahoo Breakfast, Panther Party, STREAM Night, Boo Bingo, Family Dance, etc.), Fundraising (e.g., Invest in the Best, Rock the Creek), and many others.

Pearre Creek LOVES Our Sponsors and Volunteers

All Pearre Creek volunteers and sponsors were celebrated on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, with a breakfast sponsored by the PTO. During the meeting, the board reviewed opportunities for volunteering for the 2023 - 2024 school year and thank you cards made by the students were provided to volunteers. Thank you to Rock Paper Scissors for your generous donation of balloons for the event!

Family Movie Night is April 14th

Mark your calendars for Family Movie Night on Friday, April 14th, starting at 6:00 pm in the school gymnasium. Families and students are invited to attend. Students are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring pillows, sleeping bags or bean bags for the movie! The featured movie will be "Minions" and snacks and drinks will be provided.

Can you help with the event? We are looking for volunteers for set-up, clean-up and working snack tables. Email us at pearrecreek@gmail.com and let us know if we can count on you!

Coffee + Donuts on Friday, April 28th

All Pearre Creek families are invited to grab free coffee and donuts on Friday, April 28th before school starts starting at 8:15 am at the walker entrance off Eliot Road. Water will be available for students.

Family Fun Dance Was a Hit!

Thank you to everyone that was able to attend the first annual Family Fun Dance on Friday, February 10th! We'd especially like to thank Coach Ervin who led the line dancing, DJ Louis, our volunteers and our sponsors, Rock Paper Scissors, for the balloons and, Snaps with Sally, for taking photos!

STREAM Night Success!

Thank you for all the families that attended the super-charged fun and exploration at this year's S.T.R.E.A.M Night on Thursday, February 23rd. Special thanks to Mrs. York, Mrs. Dorsten, Claire Reeves and our amazing mentors for making the nice a success.

The evening featured hands-on science, math, and art activities for kids of all ages, presentations from Innovation Expo participants, and other learning adventures! Students enjoyed robots, drones flying in the gym, climbing wall, making a catapult, castle building and more. Students were able to complete a "passport" and a drawing for prizes for those that turned in completed passports.

Did You Know....?

That because of your generosity this year, the PTO has been able to:

Fund monthly teacher lunches and Happy Carts (snacks)
Provide essential items for the cafeteria and classrooms including paper towels, straws, disinfecting wipes
Upgrade the gymnasium sound and light equipment and purchase materials for the play in preparation for Annie
Support teacher classroom items
Provide funds for TCAP and other events (that normally parents would be asked to provide)
Hosted family fun events including Panther Party, Boo Bingo, Family Dance, STREAM Night and Movie Night
Covered student fees and provided class t-shirts for all students
Provide new furniture for the library

Rock the Creek Will Return in 2024!

Given the generosity by the Pearre Creek sponsors and families, Rock the Creek songwriter's night will not be held in April 2023. We will see everyone back in April 2024 for a fun evening!
